conference: Land´s End oder Lands Anfang ?

The project ROOMING shows cultural activists in the roles of travel agents, wine farmers, hoteliers, producers of local specialities.

Six artist initiatives from Land Brandenburg joined in the network “Raumumordnung”. In a humoristic way show their working field in realizing pioneer cultural work in Land Brandenburg as some sort of publicity campaign or fair.
At the same time they are criticizing the expectations from culture politics that are pushing them into service agents with the purpose of activating the economy and tourism that is blocking free cultural development.

The exhibition is the visual frame for the two days conference “Land´s End oder Lands Anfang ?
At this public discussion participated  culture politicians, sociologists, art organizers and curators from Land Brandenburg and Berlin. They debated on the question how contemporary art and experimental pioneer projects could interfer and influence the social, cultural development in rural regions in East Germany.

The network RAUMUMORDNUNG was funded in 2007.
